Overview

Intellectual property law, in a broad scope ranging from trademarks to patents, from designs to copyrights, deals with the protection, proper management, and, when necessary, effective assertion of rights. In this field, the issue is often not merely about filing a registration application or pursuing a dispute. The real need is to establish a protection strategy suitable for the nature of the right, to correctly evaluate its commercial use, and to act in a timely manner against infringement risks.

We provide legal support to our clients in various areas of intellectual property rights, including patents, utility models, trademarks, designs, copyrights, geographical indications, plant varieties, and internet domain names. Our work in this context includes the preparation and follow-up of registration applications, the protection of existing rights, objections to applications and decisions, structuring license, transfer, and assignment operations, and the management of intellectual property portfolios. In each file, we evaluate not only the legal nature of the right but also the client's field of activity and commercial priorities.

In cases involving disputes, we represent our clients in civil, criminal, and administrative proceedings. Nullity, cancellation, and revocation actions, trademark and design infringements, passing off, unfair competition, commercial packaging counterfeiting, combating counterfeit and pirated products, customs detention and seizure applications, and domain name disputes are among the common issues we encounter in this area. When necessary, we contribute to the most appropriate management of the process through arbitration, mediation, and settlement negotiations.

In intellectual property law, the contractual structure is as important as registration and litigation processes. In license agreements, transfer and assignment operations, coexistence, co-promotion, contract manufacturing, and similar commercial relationships, we prepare contracts that clearly and balancedly regulate the rights of the parties and provide legal support in negotiation processes. Thus, we focus not only on the protection of existing rights but also on their safe and efficient use in commercial life.

In addition to processes in Turkey, we also support our clients with regard to international application and protection mechanisms. The coordination of applications conducted through international channels such as the Madrid Protocol, the Hague System, and similar systems, the follow-up of registration processes abroad, and global portfolio management are also covered in this scope. Our aim is to provide our clients with a clear, applicable, and commercially compatible legal framework in all processes related to intellectual property law.
